SSA: UHSNET hosted a two-day workshop for its member organisations on November 10-11 at Minister’s Village Hotel in Ntinda, Kampala, to discuss the draft of the Gender Mainstreaming Training Manual created by SSA: UHSNET’s Gender and HIV/Aids working group.
THE LAND RIGHTS IN UGANDA
WORKSHOP ON THE GENDER MAINSTREAMING TRAINING MANUAL
The manual will help member organisations of SSA: UHSNET to implement gender mainstreaming in all aspects of their work and decision-making processes, ranging from project operations to strategic management, to ensure that the aspects of gender equality, gender balance, and fair treatment are considered at all stages. The discussions were vivid and a lot of valuable input and comments were added, both in terms of content and the structure of the manual.
SSA: UHSNET’s Executive Director, Madam Dorothy Baziwe, took part in the training along with facilitators Madam Eunice Kyomugisha, board member of SSA: UHSNET, and Gender Specialist Mr. Innocent Tushabe of the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development. SSA: UHSNET would like to thank all of the organisations who took part in the training and look forward to a successful implementation of the manual once it has been completed.
