Gender-Based Violence Workshop

On December 2nd, SSA hosted an impactful workshop on gender-based violence, bringing together community paralegals, network members, and community coordinators for a day of meaningful dialogue and learning. It also gave the SSA Pioneer paralegals a chance to meet the Women Spaces Project paralegals. This event was part of the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, observed annually from November 25th to December 10th.

The workshop featured an insightful presentation by Hannah Mwesigwa, a seasoned gender-based violence specialist, whose expertise sparked deep conversations. Participants shared experiences, discussing real cases the paralegals had encountered in their work. These stories not only highlighted the challenges but also celebrated the resilience of those fighting against gender-based violence.

The day fostered a collaborative and supportive environment, enabling participants to exchange knowledge and strategies. By learning from each other and from the specialist, the paralegals left better equipped to address gender-based violence in their communities with compassion and effectiveness. This workshop was more than a discussion—it was a step forward in empowering those on the frontlines of justice.
