The International Women’s Day (IWD) 2024 campaign theme is Inspire Inclusion. When we inspire others to understand and value women’s inclusion, we forge a better world. And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there’s a sense of belonging, relevance and empowerment. SSA Under the women spaces project had a discussion with the members on Actions to take to inspire inclusion as the theme for International Women’s Day says.

The 68th annual Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68) was another critical center of discussion my the members. The world is at a crucial crossroad for gender equality. Globally 10.3 per cent of women live in extreme poverty today, and they are poorer than men. Progress towards ending poverty needs to be 26 times faster to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. Members suggested several strategies SSA can adopt to counter this.
