STDM EXCHANGE
SSA Under the Women Spaces project intends to implement the Social Tenure Domain Model-STDM a pro-poor land tool. The STDM method is looking at carrying out an enumeration and mapping of the land parcels in Budumbula and Busota in Kamuli Municipality with the aim of having secure tenure rights of the residents of these two areas. This will be done together with participatory physical planning.
To ensure Smooth Implementation, an exchange visit was carried out with our partner Pamoja Trust in Kenya to learn how they Implemented their version of STDM. There was learning and sharing from communities of Mabatini and Mashmoni in Nairobi who implemented STDM and are on the way to securing legal security of tenure. These key lesson will be invaluable when in comes to implementation in Kamuli Uganda. The exercise was done with support from Rooftops Canada and Global Affairs Canada
