UN HABITAT ASSEMBLY

Last Week SSA took part in the UN Habitat Assembly in Nairobi and one of the key resolutions relevant to the human settlements sector was the focus on adequate housing. The UN Habitat Assembly’s primary focus is on the global housing crisis and the adoption of UN-Habitat’s new Strategic Plan for 2026-2029. The plan centers on addressing the urgent need for adequate housing, secure land tenure, and access to basic services for all. The Assembly also featured a high-level dialogue on adequate housing for all, highlighting solutions for informal settlements and slums, and promoting inclusive and sustainable urban development
