World Habitat Day Celebration

On October 7th, SSA proudly celebrated World Habitat Day at the Kamwokya Tresor Life Center organized by the Ministry of Lands, Housing, and Urban Development in partnership with Habitat for Humanity. Esteemed attendees included Aldo Olwoch, the National Coordinator for Habitat for Humanity, Judith Nabakooba, the Minister of Lands, Housing, and Urban Development, and several honourable members of Parliament.

A central theme of the celebration was the critical role of youth engagement in urbanization, aimed at fostering a brighter urban future for Uganda. Judith Nabakooba emphasized this point, stating, “The need to incorporate the ideas and efforts of young people in national building is no longer an issue of Human Rights, but rather an essential tool of production, wealth creation, and general improvement of inclusive wellbeing”.

The event was lively, featuring inspiring speeches and an energetic youth dance group that brought the celebration to life with their captivating performance. SSA was delighted to participate in this meaningful occasion!
