Shelter and Settlements Alternatives (SSA) with support from We Effect submitted a position on the budget framework paper FY 2022/23 for the sustainable urbanization and housing programme. This was invitation by the Uganda parliamentary committee on physical infrastructure. the position paper called upon government to prioritize construction of houses rather than focusing on processes. currently there is a growing housing deficit of 2.4 million housing units in the country. the legislators pledged to call the lead Ministry of the programme to plan for results and tangible activities.
