Land rights awareness in one of the primary cooperative societies belonging to MT Rwenzori Coffee Farmers Union. The awareness involved empowering the cooperators with knowledge in the legal framework on land, the rights women, men and youth have on access control and use of land and where to report in instances of violations. This awareness exercise in the Rwenzori sub-region in south west Uganda revealed that the community were not aware of the legal framework on land and most of the Women were signing on land agreements as witnesses, men were found to be getting loans on family land without seeking consent of their wives, many women were cohabiting which was not safe for them
